A period of rapidly escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iranian governments has, for the time being, come to a close with U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that he wasn’t interested in further military retaliation, but would implement new economic sanctions on Iran. Donna Farvard, national organizing director for the National Iranian American Council, shares what communities in the Bay Area have been experiencing as law enforcement agencies announced heightened scrutiny and the threat of war loomed.
