In late November, students and instructors at City College of San Francisco learned that nearly 300 classes had been slashed from the Spring roster to forestall a projected $13 million budget deficit, resulting in more than 100 part-time instructors at City College being laid off or losing their health benefits. San Francisco Examiner reporter Laura Waxmann covers education and offers insight into the events leading up to, and the impacts of, the cuts.
