Please join us for a conference to innovate solutions that address the need for affordable housing in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Workshops will explore creative ideas for improving access to housing and encourage collaborations among diverse stakeholders.

The event will convene community members and experts in a variety of fields, including urban planning, tenants’ rights, transportation, residential construction, communal living, real estate, finance, architecture and design, and city planning administration.

Sponsored by the San Francisco Public Press and Shareable, and hosted by the Impact Hub.

All conference tickets include breakfast, lunch and the closing reception. Tickets for the closing reception are available for guests who cannot attend the full conference.

Schedule

• 8:30 to 9 a.m. — Check-in, continental breakfast and networking.
• 9 to 9:15 a.m. — Welcome and introductions.
• 9:15 to 9:35 a.m. — Keynote presentation: Corey Cook, associate professor of politics at the University of San Francisco, and director of the university’s Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good
• 9:35 to 10:45 a.m. — Rapid-fire presentations from experts in a variety of fields, including urban planning, tenants’ rights, transportation, residential construction, communal living, real estate, finance, architecture and design, and city planning administration.
• 10:45 to 11 a.m. — Coffee break.
• 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Second round of rapid-fire presentations from experts.
• 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. — Lunchtime discussion and signup for teams focusing on solutions presented by experts or alternatives offered by conference attendees. Lunch sponsored by FeelGood.
• 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. — Break-out groups expand upon solutions. Teams develop ideas for legislation, sketches, models, mobile apps, business plans or other inspired works.
• 5 to 7 p.m. — Mixer and presentation of new solutions. Presentations begin at 5:30 p.m.
