We are lining up our quarterly cover stories for 2015, and we need your help.
Our winter edition will focus on equity in San Francisco public schools. Our spring edition will examine adaptation to climate change all around San Francisco Bay. In the summer issue, we will tackle campaign finance in local elections.
These are big topics, and we want to build coverage that extends beyond our quarterly projects. We’re inviting you to help us set our news priorities by voting when you donate to our year-end fundraising campaign.
If the Public Press invests in extending coverage of one project throughout the year — before and after the project graces the front of the print edition — which one should it be?
Education Environment Campaign Finance
The project that raises the most money by Dec. 31, 2014 will be guaranteed funding for follow-up coverage throughout 2015. Our goal of $7,500 will pay freelance writers to produce weekly updates and will give them time to do ongoing in-depth research and data analysis — the kind of independent reporting that has real community impact.
