Three quick, cheap kids’ holiday hits
For better or worse, the holidays are a time to spend with the family. Here are three activities to take the edge off.
12/31: Randall Museum Winter Workshop Class
Atop Corona Heights Playground, the Randall Museum is a setting where adults and children interact creatively On Dec. 31, the museum offers the last of its winter workshops, where kids and their parents can create their own marionette puppet. There’s a view of the city to behold, too. Drop-in registration begins at 10 a.m.
12/19 – 2/14: Mexican Christmas Traditions, at Fort Mason Center
Like a gift veiled too long in its wrapping, the Mexican Museum has not had an exhibition at its Fort Mason home since 2006, until now. “Mexican Christmas Traditions” runs through Feb.14, and features the warm, bright colors and playful imagery of Mexican nativity displays.
12/05/2009 – 1/10/2010: San Francisco Public Library Holiday Train
For a quick, painless stroll with the kids: the annual holiday train display at the public library The display is like an oversized snow globe with moving parts, including Thomas the Tank Engine and, yes, the Hogwarts Express.
