Populations of the largest U.S. cities are on the rise, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
The West Coast, in particular, has seen the highest growth, with Los Angeles topping the "Fastest Growing US Cities" poll.
San Francisco also has seen an increase in population over the past three years, after three years of decline. Unemployment and the increased property prices have prevented relocation to the suburbs.
Reasons for the growth have been linked to the global economic crisis, Forbes reported.
